Awesome!

We know travel is expensive, especially these days, so we really appreciate the fact that you're making the trek to Omaha just to see us get married. I know that I haven't seen many of you in years because of travel logistics; you have no idea how excited I am to see you and catch up and how awesome it is to me if you're able to make it. I'm pretty sure John feels the same way, but I'm extra mushy about it because I've bounced around so many cities and miss all the amazing people I've become friends with. Plus, I have family I haven't seen in 30 years because they live on another continent.

Getting Here

Anyway, soft-focus stuff out of the way, here's how to get to Omaha by plane, train, and automobile. Omaha's airport is Eppley Airfield. The Airport Code is OMA. It's located 4 miles Northeast of Downtown Omaha at 4501 Abbott Drive South. Unfortunately, there is no public transportation from the airport. There are cabs, and rental car companies located at the airport though. Note: Omaha has pretty poor public transportation in general and a typical western city sprawl, so I would recommend booking a rental car. Booking early will net you the best rates (and ensure that some random Warren Buffet event doesn't suck up all the rental cars.) (Currently Enterprise is in the $20-$25 a day range for sedans on their website, Budget: $33-$41/day, but, as usual, you're probably best off using a site like Orbitz or Priceline to get the best rate.)

If you're coming by car, Omaha is situated smack dab on Interstate 80. From the Pacific Northwest you could also take I-90 East until you run into I-29 in South Dakota, and I-29 South to 680 West or 80 West. Please see the Map link for more info.

You can also get here by bus services MegaBus(from Chicago or Des Moines)or Greyhound, or via Amtrak. The visitor center's transportation page offers links and information about these transportation services, as well as local cab companies and bike rental companies.
